- Supervises, trains, evaluates and disciplines subordinate staff;
- Establishes work methods, defines scope, and schedules activities;
- Assures adherence to established policies;
- Coordinates the activities of assigned tasks with all stakeholders, including other County departments and agencies;
- Prepares and manages contracts for related consulting, architect/engineering construction, inspection, and other facilities services;
- Prepares related correspondence and documentation;
- May be assigned as a Disaster Service Worker, as required;
- Performs related work as required.
AND
Knowledge of:
- The materials, methods and principles used in the planning, design; construction and maintenance of institutional and office type buildings;
- Codes and ordinances related to buildings and systems in buildings;
- Modern office, project management, construction management and design related hardware and software tools common to the industry, such as: scheduling software, CAD software, and word processing software;
- Principles of supervision and training.
- Plan, direct and supervise the work of others;
- Review, analyze and evaluate designs and installations;
- Prepare and manage contracts;
- Prepare comprehensive reports;
- Interpret codes and ordinances related to building construction;
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
