Facilities Tech II, Maintenance Technician III
The primary purpose of this position is to provide utility calls and preventative maintenance as well as strong technical support to improve the efficiency of the facilities’ equipment and minimize the downtime due to equipment failure by, keeping records updated, maintaining data bases, performing preventive maintenance work orders, general repairs and installations, and up keeping the buildings and equipment in the plant. This position will assist in training and developing the Maintenance Technician’s work force within the department/area assigned. This position is responsible for assigned work orders, unscheduled maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and perform unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and modifications on assigned equipment as needed and document changes as required by operating procedures.
- Assist in the maintenance of manufacturing equipment and provide instruction to Maintenance Technician I personnel during maintenance or repair.
- Provide technical assistance as requested and arrange for technical support if necessary to complete repairs.
- Ensure proper set-up of facilities equipment according to procedures and product specifications at the completion of assigned tasks.
- Complete all paperwork pertaining to assigned tasks and Maximo system being produced according to established guidelines in manufacturing procedures.
- Observe plant regulations and use personal protective equipment as required, must be safety conscious and Lockout/Tagout trained.
- Transport hazardous waste to accumulation areas.
- Be on a Call In/On Call status when needed.
- Mathematic troubleshooting and the ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals.
- Calculate rate and percent and interpret basic graphs.
- Provide basic metrology knowledge.
- Use small hand tools and electrical hand tools.
- Use measuring equipment (Dial calipers, micrometers, gages, et.)
- Interpret blueprints and schematics.
Qualifications
- One year certificate from college or technical school (machinist, engineering technology) or equivalent combination of training and experience preferred
- 2-3 years of experience in industrial system and controllers (e.g. electrical system, motor controllers, boiler operation, HVAC, welding, plumbing, compressed air system, pumps operation, RO water system etc preferred
- Working knowledge of mechanisms of the industrial machinery, pumps, plumbing, brazing, welding, gearboxes, fans, shafts, bearings, sprockets, chains, lubrication, air compressors, air scrubbers, lift stations, pulleys, belts, RO water system , motors and basic electrical and HVAC knowledge preferred.
- Frequently lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to bend, reach, stoop, lift and stand for entire shift.
- Comfort working with heights 20-30 feet regularly.
- Adhere to site safety regulations including wearing required personal protective equipment such as steel toed safety shoes, and material handling equipment safety harness; accountable to Cardinal Health’s EHS as well as QRA policies and procedures.
- Must be able to work overtime with little to no advance notice.

Anticipated hourly range: $21.60 per hour - $30.80 per hour
