Job description

Under the general direction of the Energy Resources Specialist III (Supervisory), the Senior Environmental Planner performs a variety of analytical and team lead tasks. The Senior Environmental Planner serves in a lead capacity over an interdisciplinary team of technical specialists that conducts environmental analyses for energy facility licensing, exemption, and compliance; electric generation resource planning; electric transmission corridor planning; energy conservation; energy technology development; and energy policy and planning. The Senior Environmental Planner acts as a consultant performing the most difficult and complex work essential to programs of statewide significance, and advises on procedural, legislative, and technical matters. The incumbent must have exceptional analytical, writing, editing, oral communication, and team coordination skills.

Working Conditions
The CEC supports a hybrid workplace model with office-based and remote-centered workers. Limited in-person attendance and occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. This position is remote-centered, which means the incumbent works 50 percent or more of their time from an alternate work location.
