- 50/50 between equipment maintenance, install software, track inventory in lab, and supporting testing and working with ENG staff.
- Responsible for the growth and support of the electronics test lab in Client's Ann Arbor office.
- Perform duties related to the development, test, maintenance, and repair of Client products and electronic equipment used in the testing of Client products.
- Carry out assignments related to prototyping, PCB assembly and debug, execution of test protocols, managing repair and calibration of electronic lab equipment, and other miscellaneous tasks.
- Other responsibilities include completion of technical reports, documenting work activities, and maintaining lab in safe, proper working condition.
- Assist senior staff in device test and qualification activities, including carrying out test procedures, loading and testing devices, recording, and organizing data, and utilizing data analysis tools
- Assemble and troubleshoot circuit boards and test fixtures, including hands older of chip scale package devices.
- Maintain work area and equipment in safe, proper working condition.
- Troubleshoot issues with bench test equipment or test setup.
- Collect and record accurate test or process data for use in problem analysis, product verification, process verification and engineering or manufacturing estimates.
- Maintain and repair custom test sockets and fixturing.
- Manage inventory of electronic lab equipment, including regular calibration and maintenance.
- Surface mount and cable assembly experience.
- Ability to create and modify circuit schematics.
- Must be able to lift, push, pull up to 30 lbs.
- May be required to climb ladders to retrieve or maintain equipment.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Previous experience managing and maintaining electronic laboratories is a plus.
- Hands on experience testing electronic devices, including experience using ATE and automated bench test setups.
- Hands-on experience with PCB assembly (hand solder and reflow), including surface mount and chip scale packages.
- Hands-on experience with bench test equipment such as power supplies, DMMs, oscilloscopes, frequency counters, digital signal analyzers (DSA), network analyzers.
- Experience in PCB debugging, repair, touchup, and rework.
- Experience creating reports using PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Word.
- Experience with instrument control using GPIB interface is considered a plus.
Desired:
- AS in Electronics Technology or Electrical Engineering, BS a plus.
- Experience coding/scripting using Python, C/C++, or MATLAB is a plus.
- Good verbal communication skills required.
- Ability to work well with others in a fast-paced collaborative team environment.
