As a Senior Electro-Mechanical Design Checker, your primary job responsibility will be to perform document checking functions for mechanical engineering drawings and specifications. The selected individual will be required to examine engineering drawings/models and related documents for soundness, efficiency, and simplicity in design; completeness, clarity, and dimensional accuracy; correctness of materials and processes; conformity to design/drafting standards, design specifications, and practicability; and economy of fabrication, assembly, and installation.

This position can be worked remotely.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Review and evaluate mechanical designs, specifications, and technical documents to ensure compliance with established standards and best practices.
• Provide notations and feedback to team members so necessary corrections are made to designs and reference materials
• Checking documentation of fabricated items, diagrams, Source Control Drawings (SCD’s) and assemblies to ensure conformance to design documentation for new documentation or revisions to existing documentation and data.
• Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing Standards and design data supplied by engineering.
• Review form, fit completeness, and consistency of dimensioning of drawings.
• Recommends changes to ensure compliance with standards, procedures, and specifications.
• Performing tolerance stack up analysis in support of form and fit of components to assembly.
• Conferring with engineering to resolve drawing and design discrepancies.
• Providing training to improve overall drafting quality and consistency.
• Reviewing material requirements for standardization and conformance to industry specification manuals.
• Responsible for observing all laws, regulations, and other applicable obligations wherever and whenever business is conducted on behalf of the Company.

Basic Qualifications:

• Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience. Certification may be required for technical support roles
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
• U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
• Must have computer Aided Design (CAD) modeling and drafting experience
• Must have experience with mechanical engineering fundamentals including structures, mechanisms, materials and analysis

The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
