The Staff Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including but not limited to, financial reporting/recording and assisting with budget preparation. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and values accuracy.
Responsibilities:
Support the accounting department in the month end close process.
Perform monthly reoccurring entries (prepaids, depreciation, depletion, etc.).
Assist in month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
Prepare financial reports, variance analysis, and ad hoc financial analyses as required.
Assist in budget preparation and monitoring of budget performance.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate recording of transactions and adherence to internal controls.
Maintain organized and accurate financial records in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Assist with external audits and provide necessary support to auditors.
Stay updated on relevant accounting standards, regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and efficiency.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, preferably in a manufacturing or construction-related industry.
Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with keen attention to detail.
Excellent organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Knowledge of GAAP and familiarity with relevant accounting regulations.
