Senior Electrical Engineer

RCMT Energy Services is seeking to hire an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join its team in Florida.
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of engineering and design of electric utility substations including supervision and checking of junior engineers and designers. Should be able to work with minimal guidance. Responsibilities will include detail design efforts of high voltage utility substations (4 kV - 500 kV). The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of complete construction packages including operating one-line diagrams, equipment one-line diagrams, general arrangements for control house layouts and substation yard layouts, AC and DC schematic diagrams, relay and control bill of materials, control wiring diagrams, SCADA systems, communication networks, cable and conduit plans and schedules, electrical bill of materials, grounding plans and details, lightning plans and details, yard lighting plans and details, etc. This position may also include performing design calculations, coordination studies and relays settings in accordance with industry standards such as IEEE, NEC, NESC, etc, as well as working within client specific standards. Utilize various client information systems to retrieve information and to deliver design packages. Projects may include travel to client sites as needed to perform job functions at existing facilities such as, but not limited to, acquiring field data necessary to prepare the appropriate design. As a project engineer, a successful candidate will need to coordinate the design and engineering activities with other disciplines such as Civil, Structural, Mechanical, and other Engineering disciplines. This position will report to the General Manager in Reading, PA.
Job Requirements:

• Must have a bachelor's degree (BS or BE) in Electrical Engineering, preferably with a concentration in Power Systems.
• 10-15(+) years of experience in Engineering, Design, or Commissioning experience in Utility Substations.
• Working knowledge of the NEC, NESC, NEMA, ANSI and IEEE codes.
• Ability to create new, and to revise existing one-line diagrams, AC and DC schematic diagrams, control wiring diagrams, and bill of materials.
• Must demonstrate ability to simultaneously handle multiple tasks and apply individual judgment, initiative and decision making.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills necessary to interact with clients, equipment vendors and construction contractors.
• Must be computer proficient with Microsoft Office software products.
• Proficient in the use of engineering analysis software such as ETAP, SKM, Easy Power, AMPCalc, Cymecap, and/or similar applications.
• Perform other related assignments as required.
• Must possess a valid driver's license to drive to client sites and between branch offices. Nationwide and International Travel may be periodically required. Expected travel time approx. 5-10% and can vary over time.
• Must have a PE License in the United States and the willingness to obtain a PE in additional states, as necessary.
• US Citizen or the ability to work in the US without sponsorship.

Preferred:

• Advanced degrees Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, or related field(s)
• Certifications: PMP, LEED-AP, CFPS.
• A completed Model Law NCEES record.
• Inter-disciplinary engineering experience.
• Testing, commissioning, or start-up experience.
• Construction Supervision and field support services experience.
• Ability to work in Reading, PA or Florida is highly preferred.
