Salary Range: $76,058.97 - $110,130.56


GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Sr. EHS Generalist is responsible for the development and use of processes and systems to assure compliance with federal, state, local laws, regulations and company standards or expectations in the areas of Environmental, Health and Safety. This person trains and addresses concerns from employees in an administrative and production environment. This position develops, maintains, and reviews any process/procedure required to ensure compliance and a safe working environment. This person works closely with plant manager, plant production manager, and production supervisors/managers.
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a science-related field preferred, or equivalent direct work experience. Minimum 8 years of experience in the EH&S discipline.
Standard practices, methods, tools, equipment, and materials involved in solid waste and environmental management-related tasks, activities, and education.
Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen
Valid driver’s License, ability to legally drive in the US
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. The Sr Generalist has primary responsibility to develop implement site EHS programs. May develop content with manager.
  2. EH&S programs and objectives should be in alignment with company business objectives and sustainability goals and regulatory requirements.
  3. Develops, maintains, and continuously improves standard operating procedures to ensure EH&S compliance.
  4. Manages day to day EH&S training programs, determines EH&S training needs, develops, and facilitates training, and works with site management to ensure ongoing training compliance.
  5. Serves as the primary point of contact for the site with all external reporting agencies.
  6. Reads and interprets regulatory documents for employees and management.
  7. Observes personnel daily to ensure compliance with established procedure as well as ensuring that procedures can be followed.
  8. Maintains and updates source documents on a routine schedule.
  9. Works with Supervisors and Managers to ensure unified EHS processes are established wherever possible.
  10. Assists with and/or coordinates internal audits of operations to include the planning and scheduling of audits.
  11. Completes required federal, state, and local government reports relating to EH&S.
  12. Responsible for ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications; updates and applications. May serve as a lead auditor.
  13. Performs above duties with extensive consultation with senior staff personnel and leadership team in the plant.
  14. May train specialists or generalists may evaluate skills and safety processes for internal certification. May be involved in hiring and performance management.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned. 

PREFERRED CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Desirable, not required: CHMM (Certified Hazardous Materials Manager), ASP/CSP (Certified Safety Professional), ASHM (Associate Safety and Health Manager), ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, ISO 45001 Lead Auditor, or similar industry certifications.
