Senior Director, Pricing Analytics, Forecasting and Infrastructure
Who are we looking for?
Choice Hotels, one of the world's largest lodging franchisors, has an exciting new opportunity as our Senior Director, Pricing Analytics, Forecasting and Infrastructureon the Distribution, Pricing Analytics, & Revenue Management team.
This leader will be responsible for developing the short-term and long-term revenue forecasts across multiple chain scales and outline the impact of various commercial activities on overall performance. The role will also oversee the Pricing Analytics function with a focus on identifying trends, opportunities, overall rate strategy, creating in-year and 3-year plans, and independently monitoring performance of various revenue generating programs. The leader will be responsible for overseeing any development, usage, and performance of various revenue management tools, including but not limited to the revenue management system, property management system, and pricing optimization tools. Finally, the leader will be responsible for managing vendors that provide revenue management support services such as Demand360, Kalibri, IDeaS, etc.
Other responsibilities include proactively communicating progress towards goals, performance against forecasts, industry trends, etc. to internal and external audiences. The individual will also be a key part of franchisee communications.

Your Responsibilities
Forecasting
  • Own and develop the short-term (quarterly) revenue forecasts across the entire enterprise, including chains scales and brands.
  • Develop and co-manage the long-term (annual) revenue forecast across the enterprise, chain scales, and brands in collaboration with Advanced Analytics and Finance.
  • Track various initiatives across the organization that contribute towards the revenue goals and forecasts.
  • Create short-term and long-term operating plans in collaboration with other Revenue Management leaders, Brands, Marketing, Finance, and Advanced Analytics.

Pricing Analytics
  • Lead the Pricing Analytics function to report on performance of various revenue management and commercial initiatives.
  • Uncover trends, opportunities, and deploy intermediate to advanced analytics methodologies to generate actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Collaborate with other Revenue Management leaders, Brands, and Advanced Analytics, among others to set pricing strategy for various chain scales and brands.
  • Be the key point of contact across the organization to communicate operating plans, short-term tactics, impact on hotels, etc. and present performance to the organization including executive reporting.

Infrastructure
  • Own the relationship, contracts, product usage, and management of various third-party revenue management services, including but not limited to IDeaS, Amadeus, Kalibri, Hotel Compete or OTA Insights, etc.
  • Be the business owner of proprietary tools such as the property and rate management system, develop new or modify capabilities within the systems, and ensure optimal usage across hotels, channels, etc. Work with internal technology partners to set roadmaps to meet long-term business objectives.
  • Own the relationship, contracts, product usage, and implementation of any third-party property management systems such as Opera as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure system and services are priced competitively and manage associated P&L.

Your Experience, Skills & Competencies
  • 8+ years of experience with at least 4 years of experience in performance analytics, strategy, or financial analysis.
  • Extremely strong Excel and data mining/visualization skills required, ideally with Tableau.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing and predictive analytics is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data warehouses.
  • Must have strong business acumen skills that include sound knowledge of business economics. Able to develop business case, understanding return on investment of segment strategies.
  • Ability to evaluate business trends and develop successful solutions that enhance business performance.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Foster trust and a positive climate to build effective teams that are committed to organizational goals and initiatives; ability to collaborate and work well with other disciplines.

  • Ability to work with cross-functional engineering teams and external vendors to develop and roll out complex enterprise solutions.
  • Ability to effectively listen to customers and key stakeholders and ask insightful questions.

Your Team
This is a leadership role that will report to the Vice President, Marketing & Distribution Strategy & Operations. You will have several direct reports and collaborate with cross functional departments on a regular basis.
Your Work Location
As our Senior Director, Pricing Analytics, Forecasting and Infrastructure, you will be based in our beautiful, state-of-the-art worldwide corporate headquarters in Rockville, MD. Less than 15 miles from Washington, DC, we're located directly across from the Rockville Metro station, with service on the Red Line and the MARC Brunswick line, easy access to I-270, and plenty of free parking provided by Choice Hotels.
Right now, our associates in Rockville, MD are working in a hybrid environment, up to 4 days per week in the office and virtual from your home office the remaining days.
