About the Role

At DoorDash our people are our greatest asset and as we continue to scale and evolve, the Senior Director, People Business Partners, will play a critical leadership role in building and shaping our people processes and systems, drive continuous improvement and with a people first mindset enable a positive employee experience for our teams in our New Verticals organization- one of our fastest growing businesses which includes DashMart sites in the U.S. and Canada.

As the head of HR for the New Verticals business, this role will be a key partner to the leadership team, working with them to develop the people strategy needed for growth. This leader will partner with Centers of Excellence to develop the people strategy, and guide the execution through OKRs. This role is a leader of leaders, guiding an HR organization of 16 HR and ER team members to align their day-to-day HR support to the people strategy. The team collectively facilitates talent management development and communication, navigates compensation structures, and ensures that we uphold best practices, remain compliant, and think intentionally about our DoorDash brand.

We need a skilled collaborator who thrives in influencing across DoorDash to develop all aspects of the employee lifecycle in a growing market. The Senior Director, People Business Partners, will partner closely with key Centers of Excellence such as Recruiting, Compensation & Benefits, Legal, Culture & Belonging, and People Operations.  

This role reports to the Vice President of People, and partners with the Vice President, New Verticals and their leadership team as a thought partner on all aspects of the people strategy.

We’re excited about you because…
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Business/Human Resources with a minimum of 10+ years of leading teams, ideally in a fast-paced, complex multi-unit field organization.
  • Track record of serving as an independent partner to the business, challenging with respect to maintaining full discretion regarding sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate measurable results using analytics and metrics.
  • Exhibit an entrepreneurial spirit and be comfortable with ambiguity.
  • Experience in change management within a highly complex environment with multiple, geographically dispersed locations.
  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, organizational, analytical, decision-making, problem-solving, influencing, and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence and communicate at all levels of the organization and manage multiple stakeholder relationships.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to participate in strategic and operational business discussions with key leadership.
  • Experience providing consultation to senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
  • Excellent influencing skills at all levels in the organization and flexibility to be proactive in a fast pace, ever-changing environment.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring programs/processes that drive business results.

Compensation

The location-specific base salary range for this position is listed below.  Compensation in other geographies may vary.

Actual compensation within the pay range will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior relevant experience, and specific work location.  For roles that are available to be filled remotely, base salary is localized according to employee work location.  Please discuss your intended work location with your recruiter for more information.

In addition to base salary, the compensation package for this role also includes opportunities for equity grants.

$217,000—$345,000 USD
Colorado Pay Range:
$217,000—$310,500 USD
Hawaii Pay Range:
$217,000—$293,000 USD
New Jersey Pay Range:
$217,000—$293,000 USD
New York Pay Range:
$217,000—$345,000 USD
Washington Pay Range:
$217,000—$328,000 USD
