The Treasury Services business within BNY Mellon services the payments, liquidity management and trade financing needs of our clients in the US and internationally, assisting them in their efforts to optimize cash flow, ensure adequate liquidity and manage risk - all essential components to their success. The Head of Partnership & Innovation within the Client Insight & Innovation team will help define, identify and build out our pipeline of investments, partnerships and help identify ways in which we can help innovate with our partners and clients alike.

We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Head of Partnership and Innovation to join our Product Management Office team. This role is located in New York, NY, Chicago, IL or Pittsburgh PA.

In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Develop and own the Treasury Services strategy for Partnerships & Innovation.
  • Clearly communicate the proposed structures, types of partnership models and work closely with product, sales and partners to execute.
  • Engage closely with the Treasury Services business to identify opportunities and seek strategic partners.
  • Help lead investments into Venture Capital firms that are closely aligned with our priorities and client needs.
  • Identify, build, and establish operating model for portfolio companies Treasury Services need and help onboard clients.
  • Engage with portfolio companies to better understand their products/services to accelerate growth through potential partnerships that can be formed and importantly be a subject matter expert.
  • Own the end-to-end process of bringing a partnership to go-live.
  • Develop the right ROI model for partnerships and be held accountable for said ROI.
  • Be the executioner of strategic Partnership and actively participate in the build out of product/platform/capability/service.
  • Have the right command of all aspects of key projects and initiatives to retain credibility both internally with partners and externally with vendors.
  • Define and help build marketing, product development, financial, strategic, technology and implementation of partnerships to the best possible outcome.
  • Make tradeoff decisions based on technical and business insights.
  • Clearly solicit feedback and distill vision, strategy, product benefits and results to our internal partners.
  • Collaborate and lead execution across a group of global stakeholder team across Product Management, Technology, Operations, Risk, and different business functions to ensure fluid integration of features and alignment with related go-to-market activities.

To be successful in this role, we’re seeking the following:

  • Bachelors degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • 15-20 years of total work experience preferred
  • MBA or CFA preferred
  • Experience in Product Management, operations, client management preferred.
  • Ability to present to senior executives and leadership stakeholders
  • Successfully implemented complex partnerships, products or services at a global company
  • Experience in Blockchain technology and the impact on payments platforms as well as an understanding of USDC, CBDC is critical to success
  • Project management skis essential
  • Planning, business process design, operational research, data analytics and management are required by not essential
  • Applicable local/regional licenses or certifications as required by the business

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $136,500 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
