Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Ohio, an Affiliate of Boys & Girls Clubs of America, empowers the young people who need us most to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens by providing high-quality and impactful out-of-school time programming for youth in grades K-12. BGCCO serves 4,000 youth per year throughout Central Ohio.
Position Summary
Under the direction of Columbus Area Director, Sr. Director of School Partnerships will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong partnerships with local area schools, collaborating with BGCCO site leaders and educators to maximize the positive impact on students' lives. Sr. Director of School Partnerships will be experienced at effectively communicating to current and existing schools and potential community partners, designing, refining processes, and collecting and utilizing data to drive partnership success. Have the ability to build effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, including school administrators, teachers, parents, and community partners.
Essential Job Function & Responsibilities:
  • Manage all day-to-day operations and responsibilities of assigned clubs including employee relations, member relations, achieving operational goals and tracking KPIs.
  • Oversees the daily administration of the organization by implementing policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Supports and directs public relations activities to build and maintain relationships with other organizations and the public.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills with the ability to develop and communicate the organization’s mission and vision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with government agencies, community leaders, and the general public.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring program leaders have the necessary resources, support, and training to deliver high-quality programming.
Expand School Partnerships:
  • Develop and nurture strong relationships with school administrators, teachers, and staff to foster collaboration and alignment of program goals.
  • Collaborate with school partners to ensure the Boys and Girls Club programs complement and support the school's mission and academic objectives.
  • Regularly communicate program updates, successes, and challenges to school stakeholders, promoting transparency and trust.
Ensure Programming Quality:
  • Work closely with site-leaders to ensure the implementation of high-quality programming with fidelity to established standards and best practices.
  • Provide guidance and support to site leaders in designing engaging, age-appropriate activities that align with Boys and Girls Club objectives and meet the needs of the students.
  • Conduct regular observations and assessments to monitor program quality, providing feedback and recommendations for improvement.
Program Evaluation and Reporting:
  • Develop evaluation frameworks and metrics to assess the impact and effectiveness of after-school programs.
  • Collect and analyze data to measure program outcomes, identify areas for improvement, and track progress toward goals.
Collaborative Partnerships:
  • Collaborate with other Boys and Girls Clubs departments and staff to share resources, insights, and coordinate cross-functional initiatives.
  • Collaborate with external partners and community organizations to explore potential collaborations and leverage additional resources to benefit program participants.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends, research, and best practices in youth development, education, and after-school programming.
  • Plan and deliver professional development opportunities for site leaders, focusing on areas such as program design, behavior management, and student engagement strategies.
  • Collaborate with internal and external resources to provide ongoing training and support to enhance the skills and knowledge of program leaders.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience developing and supervising after-school programs. Experience with Boys and Girls Club a plus or similar youth development organizations a plus.
  • Satisfactory background and motor vehicle check.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, inspire, and coach program leaders.
  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in youth development, education, and after-school programming.
  • Experience in program evaluation and data analysis to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to foster collaborative partnerships with schools and community organizations.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Passion for youth development and a commitment to promoting equitable opportunities for all students.
