Job Description:
This position is the perfect fit for a residential Senior Designer looking to join a close knit team. The position requires you to be hands-on in the field meeting trades to go over design, in the office managing production schedules and collaborating with clients, space planning, designing, as well as sourcing and ordering finishes.
After the initial training period the designer will need to take full responsibility for managing their day to day schedule and tasks. Once the designer has become proficient with company processes and with all the production and design duties, the designer may become eligible, if desired, to meet with new clients to initiate sales and earn a bonus on top of salary.
We require an individual who has a keen sense of integrity and respect when it comes to our customers, our team, trade partners and subcontractors. Clear and direct communication is crucial as this can be a fast paced position during peak production. The individual needs to be both confident in making decisions on their own as well as collaborating with our team as we work to make our business bigger and better. This will be a very rewarding and exciting position for the right person.
Work Experience/Education:
Position requires 3 to 5 years of interior design experience in kitchens, bathrooms & remodels
Interior Design or Architectural Degree
2 year production coordinator/management experience
Requirements/Skills:
- Driving is required, applicant needs a reliable vehicle and a valid drivers license
- Drafting/3D Modeling/2020 Software/Sketch Up/Chief Architect (we are open to other industry software and will to pay for the license)
- Creativity & thinking outside of the box while designing spaces
- Hand Sketching
- Understanding impact of color and the color palette
- Proficient in Word & Excel or equivalent
- Smartsheet Software - if not familiar, willing to learn
Description of tasks:
- coordinate with production team to ensure all subcontractors are met on site to communicate project design requirements accurately and prioritize quality control
- assess production schedule and identify what is required for upcoming projects, prioritize tasks
- define scope of work for each project and identify scheduling and purchasing requirements for finishes
- take accurate measurements of job sites and develop drawings, renderings and sketches as necessary
- work with clients to finalize layout, cabinetry layout/design and product selections, manage project budget and prepare change orders as necessary
- create all needed constructions documents and 3D renderings as necessary for each project
- prepare design packages for electrician, plumber, tile setter, cabinet installer, countertop installer
- order materials and coordinate delivery to jobsite and enter related data in management software
- enter selections and schedule in management software
Job Type: Full-time:
Salary: $80,000 to $90,000 DOE + sales bonus if applicable
