The Senior Database Developer will be an active member of the Data Services team supporting all aspects of data throughout the firm. This role will support both developer and SQL operational tasks.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational support for all database environments
- Participate in the creation, maintenance and enforcement of policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of firm databases
- Ensure database code is developed with industry best practices and performance in mind
- Ensure optimal performance of the firms database environments through tasks such as performance tuning and optimization, ensuring data integrity and standard database server maintenance
- Be an escalation point for firmwide SQL related questions from query design to performance improvements and index suggestions
- Create, modify and maintain ETL processes using SSIS and IntApp Integration Builder
- Design and Develop SSRS reports leveraging industry best practices
- Be an escalation point for firmwide SSRS and SSIS related questions
- Develop, coordinate and implement installations, upgrades, patches, and backups related to SQL servers including testing of upgrades and patches along with backup verification
- Develop, implement and administer PowerShell scripts for both operational and development tasks for both database integration and system integration
- Assist with disaster recovery (DR) and high availability (HA) solutions including Availability Groups, Failover Clustering Instances, Log Shipping and Mirroring
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, business administration, information technology, or related field preferred
- 5+ years working with SQL Server and related technologies
- Strong proficiency in development of T-SQL Script writing, testing, and debug in large software application systems
- Demonstrated ability to create SSIS Projects
- Understanding of indexes, index management, and database statistics
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills.
