What you will do!
We are seeking a Senior Database Analyst to provide expert consultation to our management team, professional IS staff, and other jurisdictions. The Senior Database Analyst will take a leadership role in conducting comprehensive analysis, planning, development, implementation, and coordination for the operations, maintenance, installation, and construction of Information Systems. The Senior Database Analyst will be responsible for overseeing the work of other information technology professionals, ensuring that all tasks are completed to a high standard and in a timely manner. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in Information Systems, possess excellent leadership and communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
What we are looking for!
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: (Please clearly outline how you meet the minimum requirements and special qualifications in your application/resume/cover letter. Failure to do so might disqualify you from consideration)
(a) Seven (7) years of Information Systems experience in Mainframe Database development
OR
(b) An Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field.
AND
5 years of Information Systems experience in Mainframe Database Development
OR
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
three (3) years of Information Systems experience in Mainframe Database Development
OR
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field
AND
one (1) year of Information Systems experience in Mainframe Database Development
Desired Attributes

Specific DBMS Skills:
  • extensive knowledge of DB2 on z/OS and AIX.
  • knowledge of SQL construction and optimization.
  • understanding of data base connectivity to DB2 z/OS from SQL-Server, WebSphere, Cold fusion, Business objects, LUW, MS-Access, Toad, Oracle, etc.
  • extensive knowledge of z/OS, OMVS, CICS basics, utilities, RACF and dataset and Access Control.
  • AiX security, scripting, and monitoring experience.
Working Conditions:
Position may require periodic travel throughout the state. At times, weekend and evening work will be necessary to meet customer demands and department deadlines.
This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization. It requires working with a variety of people and situations, which requires the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times. Often travel to meetings is required with some travel to trainings. There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon Remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.
Staff working remote shall:
  • Meet all responsibilities and perform all duties as if their role was performed in a traditional work setting.
  • Comply with all agency policies, guidelines, and management directives.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in the performance of all duties.
  • Meet and maintain performance expectations.
  • Be available each week during traditional business hours, as determined by the business need.
  • There may be times that a position or an individual must be located full-time, on-site, within traditional business hours. Times when on-site presence can be required include but are not limited to training, performance, business alignment, accommodations, or resource availability. To be eligible for Remote work, staff must have a home workspace that meets all applicable technology, security and safety requirements including the ability to provide protection of confidential information.
