What you will do!
This position is part of the Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Modularity unit team within VMS that supports State stakeholders and vendors for the current Medicaid Modularity Information System (MMIS) M&O activities and assists in the design and development efforts for major changes to IT systems that support Medicaid service delivery.
The individual in this position is required to develop an in-depth understanding of the complex Medicaid related systems from an architectural perspective and how it supports Medicaid service delivery, as well as how it connects to other core OHA and ODHS systems and services. These systems include the MMIS, Community Based Care (CBC), Client and Employee Provider (CEP), xPRS Payment Review System, and Immunization Registry.

What we are looking for:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
(a) Six (6) years of Information Systems experience in Database Analysis
OR
(b) An Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field; AND four (4) years of Information Systems experience in Database Analysis
OR
(c) A Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field AND two (2) years of Information Systems experience in Database Analysis
OR
(d) Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.
DESIRED ATTRUBUTES:
  • Strong knowledge of data and database administration and security concepts.
  • Experience with SQL server configuration along with performance tuning and monitoring.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of developing, deploying, and maintaining complex report and dashboard projects
  • Strong ability to write complex SQL statements; experience with SQL Server DBMS and Oracle PL/SQL
  • Have strong verbal and written skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with non-technical business stakeholders
  • Strong ability to analyze and QA data, identify data integrity issues and make recommendations

Working Conditions
This position involves frequent contact with executives, management, and staff both internal and external to the organization. It requires working with a variety of people and situations, which requires the incumbent to exercise diplomacy. Confidentiality of information must be maintained at all times. This position requires the ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously, within short time frames, and interface effectively with business partners. It requires maintenance of tight deadlines and close coordination of a large number of tasks. There can be frequent interruptions, demanding timeframes, and non-traditional working hours. At times, weekend and evening work is required to meet customer demands and department deadlines. The location of this position is in an office, cubicle and/or an agreed upon remote work environment with significant use of a computer and video conferencing.
Full-time remote work consideration is given when requirements below are met:
• Meet all responsibilities and perform all duties as if their role was performed in a traditional office setting.
• Comply with all agency policies, guidelines, and management directives.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in the performance of all duties.
• Meet and exceed performance expectations.
• Be available each week during traditional business hours, as determined by the business need.
