Senior Cost Accountant

United Signs and Signals (USS) is a leading provider of safety traffic signs and structures in Florida, with a strong commitment to roadways and highway safety. We are currently seeking a Senior Cost Accountant/Analyst to join our financial team. This role will work closely with the CFO to establish financial goals and budgets, review financial records, research market rates for key business costs, and ensure the accuracy of our company ledger and balance sheets.

• Collect and analyze data related to the company's operational costs
• Set standard costs for manufactured goods
• Develop and analyze cost standards
• Perform cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis
• Establish costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc.
• Perform account reconciliations
• Prepare audit reports and present findings to management
• Recommend changes to company processes and policies to reduce cost and maximize profit
• Advise executives and upper management on appropriate costing based on financial data
• Manage the company’s balance sheet and accounting books
• Support other company accountants with invoicing and capital expenditure

• BS in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
• 5+ years of cost accounting experience
• Advanced knowledge of mathematics and statistics
• Understanding of organizational accounting concepts
• Strong financial analysis skills
• Ability to prepare financial reports and give recommendations based on available data
• Superior knowledge of financial reporting software tools and ERP software
• Ability to perform risk and security assessments
• In-depth knowledge of financial guidelines and regulations
• Excellent attention to detail
• Effective communication, including writing, speaking and active listening
• Collaboration and teamwork
• Knowledge of computerized accounting system
• Strong knowledge of spreadsheets
• Good time management skills
