Position Summary:
Support the Engineering Team in the effort to improve productivity and efficiency through: Analysis and assessment of current operation, technical training, development and education of best practices, implementation of fundamental operational principles, and providing technical expertise.
Principle Duties and Accountabilities:
- Serve as a consultant on the technical aspects of converting operations.
- Assess, analysis and evaluate maintenance status and operational processes in place and develop Training and action plans to address the gaps.
- Work with team on action plan and lead the improvement process.
- Coach production managers and front-line supervisors.
- Develop and build relationships with members of our vendors to help them improve their product line and that they are quick to respond to our needs within the company.
- Research and develop new processes that will impact safety, productivity, quality or yield.
- Support project installation teams with technical expertise and coordinating of vendor and internal training.
- All other duties as assigned.
Decision Making:
The Senior Training and Operations Specialist has the authority to require the cessation of operations when an unsafe condition or behavior threatens live or limb. The Senior Training and Operations Specialist is expected to analysis, plan, coordinate and participate in the execution of any assigned project.
Internally, the Senior Training and Operations Specialist coordinates with the appropriate area managers, plant managers and project managers to coordinate visits and activities. The Senior Training and Operations Specialist will work closely with all relevant vendors in developing equipment requirements, training expectations and machine specifications. This position reports to Senior Director of Process Technology.
Position Requirements:
- Strong inter-personal skills, able to easily relate to a line operator or the VP of the company.
- High School Diploma
- A positive history of extensive industry experience in leadership and/or technical positions with a proven track record of technical acumen and leadership accomplishments.
- The ability to travel approximately 85% .
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to manage a diverse team of people to accomplish complex objectives.
- Undergraduate Degree or higher
- Successful assignment as a box plant production manager.
- Specific experience as a trainer that relates to the equipment, processes, and needs of PCA.
