SR. CONSTRUCTION SUPERINTENDENT POSITION DESCRIPTION
Well established construction company in growth phase seeking a Senior Construction Superintendent. The ideal candidate will have experience in the Federal construction industry and a strong project management background with excellent organization and communication skills to interact with customers and senior level management. Ideal candidates possess an unwavering ability to support all field staff in their respective roles including QCM, SSHO, superintendent, etc.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support estimating for new bids through combination of quantity take-offs and subcontractor quotes
- Manage and drive construction project schedules
- Evaluate scopes of work and drawings to plan procedures, start and completion times, and staffing requirements for each phase of construction
- Direct subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to ensure schedule adherence.
- Inspect work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to construction schedules
- Prepare, review, or monitor reports on progress, materials used and costs, payroll man hours and overtime, and adjust as needed
- Ensure construction safety
- Ensure quality control
- Pursue new clients and identify new opportunities with existing clients
- Attend pre-bid meetings and job walks.
- Develop project scope of work for clients.
- Serve as the primary POC for the government on all contractual issues with regards to project/program execution and is responsible for the overall management of contracts.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Minimum ten (10) years in Federal Government, (DoD preferred), Construction Project Management experience, including Design/Build and Design/Bid/Build IDIQ-type contracts
- Proficient in the use of either MS Project or Primavera with specific understanding of trade sequencing and phasing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of products.
- Familiarity with USACE EM 385-1-1 required.
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- OSHA 30
REGIONAL TRAVEL IS ANTICIPATED TO BE 30%-70%. Candidate must be willing to travel in the southeast region to include Texas to the Carolinas.
