Whole Foods Market is hiring a Senior Business Analyst to work within our Workforce Planning team. In this role you will be responsible for leveraging a variety of data platforms and analytical tools to assess and convert data into actionable business insights. You'll help build tools to automate reporting and generate insights allowing clients to quickly and accurately see how WFM stores, regions, products and processes are performing while using that data to influence business and retail decisions across the company that identifies, develops and executes data analyses to uncover areas of business opportunity.
This role is located in Austin, TX or within one of our regional offices (locations in Seattle WA, Emeryville CA, Denver CO, Chicago IL, Atlanta GA, Jersey City NJ, or Marlborough MA) and requires at a minimum 3 days of on site work.
Responsibilities:
- Plays a leadership role with finance peers, regional business leadership, and global finance to support cohesive and efficient business processes in stores and regional programs.
- Drives coordination of financial services and provides store consultation, goal setting, reporting, and business process improvement recommendations.
- Defines analytical approach; reviews and vets with stakeholders.
- Leads and executes entire projects from start to finish, including data gathering and manipulation, synthesis and modeling, problem solving, and communication of insights and recommendations.
- Partners with regional and store leadership to develop significant and sustainable business improvement based on assessment of quarterly and annual financial plans.
- Performs root cause analyses and recommends holistic solutions leading to systemic and sustainable business / process improvement.
- Monitors Business Analysis metrics to identify patterns, trends, and emerging challenges.
- Devises new / enhanced methods for identifying data patterns and trends in available information sources.
- May provide advice and guidance to less experienced Team Members.
Skills:
- Alteryx preferred, Tableau, Excel, Python, SQL - a mix of any of these will suffice for this role.
- Applies multi-domain / process expertise and creatively adapts to unexpected obstacles and reallocates time, priorities, and resources accordingly.
- Able to translate complex or ambiguous business problem statements into analysis requirements and handles a diverse range of issues requiring evaluation of a variety of factors, including business trends.
- Regularly interacts with colleagues or customers up to the senior leadership level.
- Able to effectively present information and respond to questions in both one-on-one situations and group meetings.
- Proactively works to accomplish critical / difficult tasks supporting business objectives.
- Perseveres in the face of unexpected obstacles.
- Applies analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations.
- Presents problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner.
- Able to come up to speed quickly on understanding WFM’s processes and supported stores / regions business models, objectives, competitive strengths and opportunities.
Education & Experience:
- BA/BS degree and 4-6 years’ relevant experience OR equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
