Business Analyst
Compensation: $86K to $108K Base salary
Most Important Skills:
- Experience with Healthcare business processes including medical records, business office (claims and payment processing), human resources, materials management, accounting and finance processes.
- Experience with one or more EHR products (EPIC, Meditech, Cerner, etc.) and product interfaces
- Understanding of EDI (ANSI X12 standards and how they are applied to the various business processes in healthcare, 837, 835, 810, etc.)
- Experience in hospital and/or practice management and/or large behavioral healthcare setting.
High-Level Summary:
Direct report to the Manager of Healthcare Services, this is a crucial position that requires an understanding of the big picture, business processes, HIPAA and applicable risk management, and a knowledge of how to apply technology to improve manual processes.
Work with healthcare customers (hospitals, physician practices, commercial labs, behavioral health, DME/HME, home health services, nursing homes/rehabilitation centers, LTC, CCRC) to apply proprietary technologies (and services) to departments and processes throughout each client’s enterprise to improve processes, improve data management and the quality of information. Establish integrations between our platform and core EHR (and ERP) products.
This is challenging and fun position for the right individual. Each assignment is different, even if on the same subject, process or department. Every one of our customers wants systems that are flexible and accommodate their desires rather than box them into a rigid unforgiving technology – and determining how best to configure our systems to achieve these results is enjoyable and highly rewarding.
This position may involve directing other resources assigned to a project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide business process and technology expertise in advising customers on best practices
- Contribute to multiple projects spanning multiple customers at any time.
- Develop project plans and system implementation plans to achieve desired results
Preferences:
- Master of Healthcare Administration or Business Administration
- Bachelor’s Degree (Required)
- Prior business process improvement experience (medical records, business office, human resources, accounting, materials management)
- Articulate and persuasive verbal and written communication and listening skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Superior rapport and relationship building skills.
- Self-motivated and results oriented with performance accountability.
- Ability to work independently and exercise good business judgment.
- Strong ability to function effectively in a team environment.
- Computer Skills: Proficient use of a laptop computer, smartphone, printer and be familiar with Outlook, Excel and Word, ability to learn our technology stack and its applicability to business processes.
- Demonstrated organizational skills.
- Independent worker, who requires minimal supervision
