A Law Firm represents employees, primarily in high stakes wage and hour class action cases involving dozens to tens of thousands of employees. We also take a small number of individual cases involving discrimination, sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and other employment disputes. The extremely high volume of cases is mostly in Pierce County. But we are involved in a significant number of cases in King and other Counties and are routinely asked to co-counsel with other firms for our class action expertise.Responsibilities:
Perform all tasks and duties related to class action and other civil litigation:
- Interview potential new clients and make recommendations regarding viability of cases.
- Act as primary attorney on smaller individual cases through resolution.
- Conduct legal research; draft and revise complaints, motion and appellate briefs, mediation briefs, discovery requests, discovery responses, declarations, and other legal documents.
- Take and defend depositions.
- Communicate with a high volume of class members and other witnesses in a large number and variety of cases.
- Review and organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs and appendices for depositions and trials.
- Attend and make oral arguments and other presentations in court.
- Supervise, mentor, train, and direct the work of legal assistants and paralegals assisting in tasks related to class action and other civil litigation.
- Other duties as assigned.
License/Certification Required: Current License to Practice Law in the State of Washington
Experience Required: 4+ years of demonstrated success in civil litigation required. Class action experience a plus.
Job Location and Schedule: Full-time, generally Monday through Friday at A Law Firm's office in Puyallup, Washington. Occasional weekends and holidays as needed.
Compensation: Base annual salary depending on experience ranging from $140,000.00 - $165,000.00 plus opportunity to receive up to a 35% annual bonus. Annual bonus is based on successful completion of annual objectives, including billable hours, resolving particular cases, and other criteria as set forth by the firm. Total compensation including full bonus is up to $189,000 to $222,750.
