Summary

The Senior Analyst is a member of the Award Management team responsible for supporting a portfolio of low- to medium-risk awards. You will ensure successful implementation and donor compliance of these awards, and will contribute to meeting Save the Children – US (SCUS) award management targets and metrics. You will facilitate the effective flow of information and resources to Save the Children International (SCI) via Award Management and Financial systems, and serve as a liaison between SCUS colleagues and Country Office (CO) staff, informing SCUS of variations in program implementation against established work plans so variations may be reviewed and proactively addressed.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Award Management (50%) 

  • Monitor and support a portfolio of low to middle-risk awards from start-up to close-out in accordance with Save the Children donor guidelines.
  • Support communications on assigned awards with Country Offices and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare responses to donor communications, requests, amendments, etc. in coordination with direct supervisor.
  • Coordinate with Awards Management (AM) and program staff on donor reporting requirements.
  • Collaborate with AM teammates including the Lead Award Analyst and Advisor, AM in monitoring award implementation, including follow-up related to award risk management.
  • Assist in start-up efforts as applicable, i.e. meeting coordination, recording meeting minutes.
  • Assist in the completion of the award closeout process, including document review and record retention.

Support New Business Development (15%)

  • Support the department’s new business priorities and pipeline.
  • Support the concept note or proposal development process by sharing templates, updating calendars, and gathering supporting documentation.
  • Promote SCUS’ internal approval process for concept notes and proposals within SC’s Award Management System (AMS) for low-to middle-risk awards.

Budget and Financial Management (25%)

  • Track and monitor project budget versus actual expenditures, validate that expense charges are allowable, allocable and reasonable.
  • Confirm budget is within spending limits and on target; see that coding errors are corrected, variances flagged, and the use of resources maximized.
  • Support the development of programs' annual work plan budgets.
  • Support the budget planning process.
  • Contribute to transaction reviews and processing of expense reports and invoices.
  • Contribute to the review of donor reports generated by SCUS or CO, to ensure timely, accurate reporting to donors, in compliance with donor regulations and internal procedures.
  • Liaise with GCPC to prepare and finalize workflows in the Award Management System (AMS) per requirements in the Responsible, Accountable, Consulted and Informed (RACI).
  • Support the development and management of sub-award/consultant/contracts agreements in partnership with Award Operation colleagues on member-to-member (M2M) Agreements; and when applicable, ensure payments are compliant.
  • Support special projects related to the financial management of international living allowances and salaries of international staff

Knowledge Management (10%)

  • Support the unit to maintain knowledge management systems, ensuring award files are kept up-to-date in a consistent manner allowing AM team members to support the award management of the low to middle-risk award portfolio.
  • Ensure key program documents are posted on the AMS.
  • Participate in developing best practices, sharing resources, and ongoing trainingsin conjunction with program staff.
  • Support Country Office efforts to train staff on SCUS donor requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent, plus at least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Professional proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Professional proficiency in spoken and written English
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with individuals and teams at all levels, both internally and externally
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering and maintaining an environment of diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in budget management and financial analysis 
  • Experience with web-based financial and award management systems 
  • Knowledge of United States Government (USG) rules and regulations 
  • Experience in project management  
  • Experience working in international non-governmental organization (INGO) environment or humanitarian contexts
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail, ability to manage and complete tasks

Compensation

Save the Children is offering the following salary ranges for this position, dependent on candidate location:

  • Geo 1 - NY Metro, DC, and other locations with labor costs significantly above national average: Target Salary for this position is $55,250 – $61,750 base salary
  • Geo 2 - Locations around the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $50,150 – $56,050 base salary
  • Geo 3 - Locations significantly below the US National Labor Cost Average: Target Salary for this position is $45,050 – $50,350 base salary

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, base salary of internal peers, business sector, and geographic location (more information on job structure is available here). Employee may be eligible for an incentive program. Save the Children also offers paid vacation, accrued at least 12 days a year, depending on paygrade and length of service, paid safety and wellness leave of at least 1 day per month worked for a full time employee which is pro rata reduced for employees working less than a full time schedule, and at least 10 paid holidays a year. Employees may be eligible for additional bonus compensation.
