Your Role

The Senior Applications Analyst will be responsible for supporting functional areas within Merchandise Planning and Allocation (MP&A), specifically merchandise financial planning, sales and buy planning, and the pre-season and in-season planning processes with emphasis on International. This role reports to the functional manager of VSIT MP&A. Focus includes steady state support of current applications and processes, as well as identifying and evaluating new solution options, defining business and technology requirements, project and/or enhancement scope and functional design, participation in functional testing, user acceptance testing (UAT) and technology release plans. This role closely partners with peers and leaders in the MP&A and Master Data technology team, peer Victoria’s Secret and Co Technology (VSIT) Function and Technical partners, Technology vendors, and Brand Business partners – Domestic and International. Technology solutions in the Master Data, Merchandising and MP&A space span across vendor applications including SAP and Blue Yonder, as well as internally developed custom built applications and Excel, SQL and other cloud and on-premises database tools.

Your Impact

  • Develop and maintain strong partnerships and relationships with both Brand partners and other cross functional technology partners.
  • Partner with technology vendor partners on current solutions, and evaluation of upgrades and/or new vendor solution options to meet Business needs.
  • Demonstrate functional expertise in multiple areas and across multiple applications and/or systems.
  • Serve as the overall Functional Lead on multiple projects or large-scale programs; own project workstreams including Business and Technology relationships, leading functional design and requirement discussions, complete functional solution designs and transition of functional designs to development team for build, cutover planning, performance or UAT testing and post go live support.
  • Mentor and train team members on steady state support activities and in project leadership/project delivery capabilities; drive identification and resolution of issues leveraging functional expertise and product knowledge as well as on time delivery of project scope.
  • Research and triage new, uncommon and/or complex problems spanning multiple areas or systems/applications; shares knowledge and builds bench strength within the team.
  • Utilize knowledge of application architecture, industry trends or best practices, to recommend process or existing technology enhancements and/or new technology for the Master Data, Merchandising and MP&A spaces.

Solution Design/Development/Delivery

  • Lead Business solution requirement and design discussions; create functional designs, configuration, and final scope statement deliverables for enhancements or projects. Lead review sessions with user groups and cross functional technical teams. Align functional design with technical requirements. Support solution build through strong partnership with the development team.
  • Understand business needs and utilize/refine designs for applications (enhancements or new requests) to ensure functionality and capabilities meet the Business needs.
  • Own and lead project meetings to ensure deliverables are met, ensuring meetings have agendas, objectives are clear, and meetings are facilitated effectively and efficiently.
  • Understand Business and Technology roadmaps for the MP&A area and identify/engage appropriate cross functional Business and Technology partners in scoping efforts, vendor evaluation of new solutions and/or upgrades of current solutions, and support design, development, and release of new or enhanced technology applications.
  • Own and deliver project communication, including regular status updates on all aspects of the project (in collaboration with the project manager when applicable).
  • Provide feedback and input on feasibility of technology solutions and identify opportunities for improvements to ensure Business needs are met.
  • Prepare test scenarios for TUT/FIT/UAT phases of project and enhancement work; collaborate with the Testing Center of Excellence in mapping test scenarios to functional requirements and design.
  • Understand and identify data needs, system data flow requirements, and recognizes risk or impacts to business process or to adjoining systems or applications.
  • Surfaces issues, concerns, gaps in technology designs, and works to address these timely to mitigate risk and missed technical requirements.

Production Support

  • Drive consistency and high quality of customer service; recommend updates or changes to operational processes and steady state support to be more efficient and effective
  • Ensure overall quality and consistency of documentation in support and procedural libraries are maintained and accurate.
  • Ensure delivery of pertinent status communication on issues, requests, problems, or other items to all parties as appropriate. Communicate and coordinate communication of status for escalations, including senior leaders.
  • Proactively anticipate potential issues or problem areas and monitors for stability and risk avoidance.
  • Own incident management and overall SLA compliance for area of work. Recommend corrective actions, share successes with the team to continue improving overall efficiency of the team.
  • Maintain application configuration for supported applications or business processes and executes identified changes.
  • Mentor team members on handling of escalated issues, including triage of complex functional issues across a range of applications and systems; share knowledge and helps to build bench strength in the team.
  • Identify impacts of planned application or system outages. Ensure overall coverage for the event/s including coordination and communication with user groups, supporting technical teams and leadership.

Minimum Salary: $107,000.00
Maximum Salary: $145,950.00

VS&Co provides a range of compensation for this role as shown. Your actual salary will be determined by a number of factors, including: your specific skills and experience, geographic region, or other relevant factors.

Qualifications

What Experience Should You Bring To This Role

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; listening and understanding aptitude; strong diagnostics and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of detail and accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills to build strong relationship and influence others
  • Prior Retail experience Merchandise Planning and Allocation (MP&A) strongly recommended.
  • Experience with agile methodology, and ability to manage project deliverables and exercise flexibility when priorities change.
  • Ability to articulate detailed action plans and ability to work within designated timelines.
  • Ability to confidently lead and present in discovery sessions and other forums.
  • Ability to coach and mentor other associates in the team and share knowledge to support balancing workload across the team, and depth in application support.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel; Visio experience beneficial.
  • Experience with SAP, Blue Yonder or other vendor Merchandise Planning and Allocation solutions is beneficial.
  • 7-10 years of experience in enterprise infrastructure technology or related retail experience with technical aptitude and skillset.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in information technology.
