We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Emission Technician within our Permian EOR Business Area East, Odessa group and will be located in North Cowden, Texas.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Comply with LDAR and OOOOa Responses (leak detection and repair) methods, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain, support, troubleshoot, and repair equipment, calibration, and maintenance on valves (BPV, Recycle, ESDs, dumps, etc.), actuators, hatches, VRU’s, and vents
  • Performs inspections of tank batteries, VRU’s, and other facility areas to assure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Performs emergency response activities including, but not limited to oxygen issues, venting, high pressure facility issues
  • Assist in the development and management of compliance procedures at facility level
  • Works closely with Operations, Automation, and Gas gathering/Plant departments
  • Repairs for emission findings

o Hatches

o Enardos

  • Manage Tank PSV PMs, AVO’s, Method 22’s, and repairs
  • Manage critical spare inventory for emissions
  • Valve repair, installation, replacement (BPV, PCV, etc.)
  • Provide input with maint capital team on projects
  • Implement changes for SWAT Team
  • LO equipment for repairs
  • Fill out permit to work
  • Update control room on changes to field equipment so that screens can be updated and kept current
  • Conduct/participate in the PSSR, HAZOP, and MOC processes
  • Work with Prod Ops Emissions team

Mentor Job Task:

  • Identifies future competencies and expertise required by the organization for the Emissions Tech role. Develops and pursues learning plans accordingly.
  • Coaches other Emissions and operations Techs on establishing priorities and timelines.
  • Helps and trains other crafts and peers with problem solving situations.
  • Coach other crafts and peers to spontaneously recognize and appropriately act on upcoming opportunities.
  • Highly motivated to assess and initiate things independently.

Analytical Job Task:

  • Collects and analyzes information from a variety of appropriate sources. (Special services report, Operations, etc.)
  • Reviews information to ascertain problems or likely situations.
  • Troubleshoots, analyze, and solves a variety of complex issues.
  • Correlates various pieces of information into clear and concise reports.
  • Demonstrates a thorough understanding of processes and problems and finds alternatives and solutions.
  • Assists in selecting and implementing a solution and following up to ensure success.
  • Proactively sets priorities with an appropriate sense of what is most important and plans with an appropriate and realistic sense of the time demand involved

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or higher
  • 3-5 years oilfield experience preferred, with a responsible attitude for personal safety and the safety of co-workers, contractors & the public
  • Demonstrated strong commitment to safety (personal safety, co-workers, contractors, and the public
  • Experience working with high-speed engines, Caterpillar a plus
  • Must have valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record
  • Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
  • Thorough knowledge of surface equipment types and applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform root cause failure analysis
  • Ability to repair minor mechanical problems
  • Ability to perform preventative maintenance and to participate in root cause failure analysis
  • Capable of basic troubleshooting of automation and electrical equipment
  • Also capable of repairing some equipment, such as actuators & level alarms and of changing out fuses, relays, etc
  • Competent in computer programs applicable to his/her daily work processes (Microsoft programs, Nexus)
  • Desired working knowledge of CO2 operations
