Senior Accounting Analyst
American National is seeking a full-time, Real Estate-Senior Accounting Analyst. You will perform Real Estate/joint venture accounting and analysis on various investments in addition to supporting the Real Estate Servicing team. You will work with both the wholly owned and joint venture portfolios. To thrive in this position, you will need robust GAAP accounting experience, ability perform account reconciliations, be knowledgeable with financial statements and their interconnectivity with sub-ledgers and general ledger, and the ability to read legal documents (leases and operating agreements) to understand how the information will affect financial statements and accounting procedures.
Onsite Placement: League City, Texas

What will you do?
Perform investment analysis
Perform month end and quarter end journal entries
Review other accountants' work
Analyze investment performance and identify trends on Real Estate properties
Conduct reconciliations
Assist with month end and quarter end reporting
Review leases and operating agreements
Aid in resolving accounting problems as needed
Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Accounting, MS Accounting or BS Accounting & Finance Preferred
General Ledger/GAAP accounting experience (4+ years' experience) - Does not include AP/AR positions)
Preferred: 5 years of Real Estate accounting with increasing responsibilities
Understanding of legal terms and how the information affects accounting procedures
Account reconciliation experience
Ability to work within multiple accounting systems
Strong Microsoft Office Suite Skills (Advanced Excel skills)
Must be available to work hours outside of normal business operations during peak periods (Month end / Quarter end)
