Role:

The Senior Accountant’s core responsibilities will be the entry of financial information, balance sheet account reconciliations, month-end close, preparation of budgets, forecasts, revenue recognition, grant finance management, accounts payable, payroll preparation, audit schedules, and any related analysis, and financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP. The successful applicant will be responsible for accounting records, production of financial reports and analysis, treasury, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

What you will do:
  • Timely gathering of approvals, entering and processing of all Accounts Payable invoices

  • General ledger entry of financial information including journal entries for daily, weekly and monthly transactions
  • Complete monthly bank account reconciliations and general ledger reconciliation
  • Performs monthly detailed balance sheet reconciliations and analysis by providing explanations to monthly trends
  • Records, monitors and proposes monthly accruals
  • Performs variance analysis of budget to actuals and documents analytical explanations
  • Timely close of all entity level financial statements in accordance with GAAP
  • Developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration, accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury management, and other activities
  • Maintaining budgets and forecasts
  • Prepare monthly reports for team leaders in the company
  • Contribute to annual audit requests
  • Assist with other projects and requests as needed

You are a good fit if you have:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting

  • Proven work experience of two to five years in accounting, audit or other related fields
  • Strong knowledge of payroll, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
  • Understanding of financial data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills
  • Accounting Principles: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to ensure accuracy of financial statements and implement adequate internal controls to safeguard departmental assets
  • Systems fluency: Learn and navigate through multiple systems including: QuickBooks, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook). Intermediate Excel skills including X-Lookups, Pivot Tables, and Functions.
  • Data Security Practices: complying and adhering to data security practices (HIPAA) and other applicable compliance standards.

This position is remote (work from home). Although the position is remote, you must be local to and able to travel for regular meetings at our offices in Boston, MA or Short Hills, NJ.

Work from home requirements:
  • Must have internet service with minimum upload/download ability.
  • Company will provide equipment (laptop, monitor, keyboard, mouse and headset) plus a remote work stipend.
  • Must have a quiet space to speak to members with minimal background noise.
  • Must understand the importance of protected health information and ensure any data/information is not visible to others.
This is a full-time, exempt position. The starting salary range for this position is $63,140 - $83,930 annually + equity + benefits. The final compensation package is influenced by various factors such as experience, education, degrees earned, market data, and business requirements.
