SalaryJOB SUMMARY: The Senior Accountant plays a pivotal role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring accuracy in financial reporting, and contributing to strategic financial planning. This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with experience in assisting in the creation of efficient processes and developing month-end workflows and policies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Understand, review and approve invoices for certain vendors.
- Work with vendors on issues on their invoices.
- Review and own expense reimbursement process for all employees.
- Manage capex and ensure invoices follow the process & recorded to the correct projects.
- Prepare journal entries during the month end close process.
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations for a set of accounts.
- Assist with the preparation of management reporting for internal purposes.
- Assist with the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Assist with the consolidation process during month end.
- Understand current processes and assist in building new more efficient processes.
- Analyze financial information and summarize financial status.
- Review and understand where business improvements can be put in place for optimal business performance.
- Prepare ad-hoc and analysis reports as requested.
- Other job duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- College degree in finance or accounting preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years applicable work experience – Public Accounting Audit/Assurance preferred.
- CPA Preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Thorough knowledge of basic accounting procedures
- Familiarity with financial accounting statements
- Extremely organized and detail orientated.
- Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Quick learner who can prioritize and multi-task.
- Good communication skills
- Able to take direction to work independently and as part of a team.
- Takes pride and ownership in job responsibilities.
- NetSuite experience preferred.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- In Person office environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES AND COORDINATION:
- Direct reports include Senior level accounting team members.
