Class Description
The purpose of this class is to oversee all aspects of the accounting administration, audit, and 990 for the Community College of Baltimore College Foundation.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting required; CPA or Master's degree preferred. A minimum of four years of current professional experience required. Experience as an Accountant in a non-profit institution preferred. Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles including the standards of the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB 116 and 117), Accounting and Reporting for a non-profit institutions. Proficient computer skills and experience with all Micro soft Software. Knowledge and superior skills with Excel to create spreadsheets for analysis and general word processing skills for Board of Director meetings/presentations. Automated accounting system experience required; preferably in a non-profit institution. Experience with SCT Banner Student Information System and Raiser's Edge/Financial Edge are preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties
  1. Providing timely and accurate financial information and advice to management and staff in CCBC Foundation.
  2. The development of timely and accurate reporting of financial statements and supporting schedules in compliance with federal, state and industry accounting standards. This includes the revision and/or design of financial reports utilizing mainframe and microcomputer-based report generation software.
  3. Responsible for monthly reports and analyses provided to the Board and investment committee.
  4. Responsible for coordinating the annual audit and 990 for the Foundation.
  5. Responsible for coordinating, preparing, and reviewing the annual budgets for the Foundation.

Position Specific Essential Duties
  1. Responsible for the maintenance, accuracy and reliability of the Foundation chart of accounts and related processing within the Financial Edge financial management system.
  2. Perform internal auditing functions and analysis.
  3. Review, analyze, and determine causes of any inaccuracies in financial records and prepare correcting entries.
  4. Monitor and analyze all financial activity, including cash receipts and disbursements and ensure that these transactions are appropriately interfaced with the College's systems.
  5. Prepare monthly investment reports on the result of the pool or pools of investment and run the Financial Edge Endowment jobs that properly allocate realized and unrealized investment results to the various scholarship funds.
  6. Assists with the preparation, review and timely submission of the Internal Revenue form 990.
  7. Revise or design financial reports utilizing mainframe and/or microcomputer report generation software to meet the needs of the system.
  8. Develop the annual financial statements in accordance with related Not for Profit Accounting standards, including all footnotes and supporting schedules and coordinate the review with external auditors.
  9. Analyze and interpret new accounting pronouncements to assure compliance with current requirements.
  10. Reconcile various subsidiary ledgers with the general ledger, e.g., pledge accounts receivable, accounts payable, etc.
  11. Coordinate the establishment of new scholarship accounts and other system security changes for the Foundation.
  12. Prepare various internal financial statements and complex analyses and reports.
  13. Assist with Foundation grant Accounting and Reporting.
  14. Coordinate and manage the budget development process.
  15. Develop, analyze and recommend enhancements to and methodologies for financial reporting and control systems.
  16. Review and ensure that financial management reports are of proper form and content and convey accurate financial results.

    Plan pays 60% of gross monthly salary after 90 consecutive days of absence. Employee pays 100% of premium.
