Devine Consulting is seeking to add a Senior Accountant.
In addition to day-to-day accounting work, the Senior Accountant ensures all clients are taken care of and all their hands-on accounting, financial reporting, and analysis needs are completed in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner. This role will involve working closely with clients and our team. You will have the opportunity to experience and apply multiple aspects of accounting, financial and general accounting transactions, analysis, and strategy. This role is required to manage existing clients and has the potential to grow into cultivating new clients.
This position is in-office full-time. Devine Consulting's office is located in the Sugar Land area with little to no travel to clients around the Houston area.
Candidate must have an accounting degree, CPA preferred but not required with 5 years working experience.
Senior Accountant Essential Functions:
- Oversees the client accounts they are responsible for:
- Delegate and coordinate tasks between themselves and the bookkeepers.
- Elevate potential projects up to the manager.
- Raise questions or concerns when they arise.
- Establish and create processes to streamline workflow.
- Communicates via emails and meetings with owners and other stakeholders regarding requests and questions.
- Receives, approves, and, when necessary, investigates client's accounts payable invoices.
- Handles client payroll with outsourced payroll firm.
- Handles cash and credit card reconciliations for clients.
- Record cash receipts for clients.
- Reconcile other accounts as needed on the Balance Sheet or Profit & Loss.
- Oversee month-end close, including AP and AR.
- Review transactions and oversee general accounting daily operation.
- Balance sheet reconciliation of all accounts including intercompany and equity accounts.
- Be able to review and manage any accounts handled by bookkeepers.
- Review journal entries for accuracy and prepare closing entries.
- Analyze monthly balance sheet and P&L.
- Support the preparation and distribution of financial review packages.
- Generates 1099's and W-2's for clients.
- Calculate Sales Tax and remits.
- Issue Invoices to customers of clients.
- Performs other duties as assigned from time to time by accountants or partners.
- Mindful of processes and constantly looking for new, improved ways to handle various tasks to increase efficiency.

- Intacct
- Bill.com
- Expensify
- QB Time
- QBO Payroll
Education, Experience, and Skills Required:
- Minimum of five years responsible accounting experience including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and financial reports.
- Must have an accounting degree.
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently with ease and professionalism.
- Knowledge of computerized accounting and must be able to do a manual set of books.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements of processing payroll accounting transactions and payroll returns.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing, in English.
- Must be able to keep client matters strictly confidential.
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills and customer service skills.
