About the Position:
The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for completing month end closing tasks, account reconciliations, assisting in financial analysis for responsible legal entities. Primary resource for maintaining purchasing, travel & expense policies, and employee expense reimbursement workflow. Assist with external auditors to complete annual audit. Assists and/or backup with billing and payment processes. Office hours are 8am – 5pm.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform month end closing exercises as directed within close timeline. Exercises include but are not limited to: journal entries, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and intercompany reconciliation.
- Oversee billing and invoicing: generate, audit, and reconcile orders, invoices, vouchers, etc., and prepare reports to substantiate individual transactions prior to settlement.
- Manage bank accounts: oversee daily reporting, weekly forecast, reconciliations, and initiate outbound transfers as needed.
- Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
- Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
- Manage and maintain internal travel and expense workflow, Concur.
- Demonstrate a high level of arithmetic accuracy and attention to detail.
- Makes recommendations regarding the accounting of reserves, assets, and expenditures as needed.
Conducts internal studies with recommendations for improving the organization’s accounting operation.
- Performs statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings from financial statements.
- Train staff members as needed.
- Good writing and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven organizational skills with an ability to multitask and drive projects through to completion.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
Education:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or combination of education and experience.
Experience:3-5 years general ledger and financial reporting experience preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Must have strong systems aptitude with Microsoft Office applications and ERP software, SAP experience preferred. Ability to multi-task and drive projects through to completion with proven organizational skills in a fast paced environment. Demonstrate a high level of arithmetic accuracy and attention to detail. Good writing and verbal communication skills. A solid understanding of US GAAP, SOX, and IFRS.
