Essential Duties
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
- Oversee the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Coordinate with external auditors and tax advisors to support annual audits and tax filings.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to support business decision-making and strategic planning.
- Lead and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and training to ensure professional development and performance excellence.
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional initiatives and drive process improvements.
- Monitor cash flow and liquidity needs, and provide recommendations for optimizing working capital management.
- Stay current with accounting standards, regulations, and industry trends, and ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous supervisory or managerial experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (SAP Business One preferred)
- SQL and Crystal reporting experience a plus
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- ADP Payroll experience
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic insights.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
