Senior Accountant- Consumer Goods/ Retail/ E-Commerce

Major Apparel company is seeking a motivated, hands-on Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This position handles general accounting responsibilities for several divisions in a privately held apparel company comprised of wholesale, retail and e-commerce distribution channels.

This position will work 4 days/week from our Secaucus, NJ office and 1 day from home. 

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create and post monthly journal entries, review various Financial Statement line items and submit analyses for review to the Controller and Assistant Controller. Perform various bank reconciliations for assigned divisions.
• Calculate and process Monthly Sales Commission calculations and share results with Division Heads.
• Reconcile intercompany balances.
• Assist with various Federal, State and Local entity registrations.
• Assist with the preparation of annual 1099 reporting.
• Assist with the preparation of audit requests for external and bank audits.
• Other projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• BS or BA in Accounting from a 4-year college or university (will consider an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience.
• Consumer Goods experience
• Experience with a multi-distribution channel organization a plus.
• Apparel industry and/or Retail Accounting experience a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics GP general ledger software or similar system.
• Experience using Excel, with knowledge of V-Lookups and Pivot Tables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously with little supervision.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
