JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting with monthly and year-end financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance, account reviews and reconciliation, bank reconciliations, various management reporting, financial analysis, and other assignments upon request.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:
- Assists Controller with finance office operations.
- Review, track and records all receivable accounts.
- Assists Controller with balancing and reconciling assigned general ledger accounts.
- Oversee the process of creating and processing new fixed assets and disposals.
- Participate in the monthly close process for fixed assets, including journal entries, adjustments, and account reconciliations/roll forwards.
- Participate in the budgeting process as it relates to capital expenditures and depreciation.
- Serves as a key contact for external auditors as well as executive leadership on the accounting for complex and non-routine transactions.
- Reviews and analyzes financials of various casino departments (i.e., Slots, Table Games, Food & Beverage, Marketing etc.) as assigned.
- Responsible for the preparation of accurate general ledger entries and reconciliations for month-end closing of the books in a timely manner.
- Responsible for timely capitalization of completed Construction In Progress (CIP).
- Assists with audit functions to maintain compliance with applicable internal controls and regulations.
- Prepares and files federal, state, and other forms and reports as assigned.
- Attends annual continuing education classes to maintain and improve skills.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required skills and knowledge:
- BA or BS degree in Accounting from an accredited university or college
- Three (3) or more year's accounting experience to include: monthly financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance and account reviews, revenues audits, bank reconciliation and cash management.
- One (1) or more years' experience preparing tax returns, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Skills in college level intermediate accounting procedures.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- The ability to use ten-key by touch.
- Excellent math skills.
- Experience working with vendors.
- Intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite creating spreadsheets, correspondence, and research.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Ability to safeguard confidential information.
- Ability to perform all job duties accurately.
- Ability to work all shifts including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain a Class III Gaming License.
Preferred skills and knowledge:
- Five (5) or more years hands on experience to include monthly financial statement preparation, general ledger maintenance and account reviews, revenue audits, bank reconciliation and cash management.
- CPA or CPA candidate
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to lift boxes weighing at least 40 pounds.
- Ability to sit, stand or move for long periods of time.
- Manual and finger dexterity for operation of personal computer and routine paperwork.
- Ability to tolerate a smoke-filled environment.
