Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to help build out our accounting department. The position will work closely with the Director of Finance to internalize the accounting operations which are currently outsourced to a national firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, preferably in healthcare, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis. The Senior Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial insights to support decision-making.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Director of Finance to internalize accounting operations, bringing the monthly close and financial reporting process fully in-house
- Manage and oversee the daily and monthly operations of the accounting department
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, including income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cash flows
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends and provide recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate annual audits and tax preparation with external accountants, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
- Prepare and review budgets and forecasts and provide financial analysis and support to management
- Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and changes in regulations affecting healthcare accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably in healthcare
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations, include GAAP and healthcare accounting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, familiarity with NetSuite is preferred but not required
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment

The salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The pay range for this role in the state of Colorado typically falls between $75,000 - $95,000 annually with the potential for performance-based bonuses and other benefits. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, and location within the state.
