Key Responsibilities


  • Upload the property management system activities into the accounting system and reconcile any differences between the property management system and the accounting system.
  • Review the coding of credit card transactions and record in the accounting system.
  • Update the fixed assets module in the accounting system and record the depreciation and amortization entries.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow forecasts.
  • Process accounts payable transactions.
  • Process tenant checks and apply in the tenant ledgers in the property management system.
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Monitor cash balances and transfer funds as needed.
  • Maintain and update support schedules for balance sheet balances.
  • Record monthly accrual and adjusting entries both in the property level records and upper tier entities.
  • Prepare preliminary property acquisition entries using closing statements.
  • Maintain and update financial audit schedules; assist with year-end audit work.
  • Conduct flux analysis for all material balances in the financial statements.
  • Assist operations teams with accounting/finance related issues.
  • Prepare quarterly lender compliance and partners reporting packages.
  • Complete special projects as assigned by the Controller or the CFO.
Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in real estate/property management accounting.
  • Experience in using Yardi is a strong plus. Ability to pick up new software packages as needed is a plus.
  • Excellent excel skills.
  • Self-starter and can work independently well.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking.
  • Resourceful and can wear different hats.
  • Excellent work ethic.
