The Senior Account Manager, Fresh Pork is responsible for managing the day to day business for key program customers for fresh pork sales. The customers will cover a mix between conventional business and specialty flow business. They will handle all aspects including forecasting, service level issues and proactive daily sales opportunities. In addition, they are responsible for executing on further development and growth opportunities for the accounts they service.
Account Management
- Establish order management process and expectations with CES for assigned accounts
- Responsible for managing customer specific pricing including formula programs and price lists
- Responsible for filling out quality complaint forms and escalating any recurring issues or those that require corrective actions
- Responsible for addressing open deductions and missed pricing credits by identifying root cause and corrective actions
- Supports Business Development Director by interfacing with Fresh Business Management team on growth and development opportunities
- Responsible for forecasting weekly turn demand through Forecasting process and reviewing any large deviations with customer to gain understanding to changes in demand
- Issue resolution and communication to internal and external customers on any large scale service level challenges
- Key connection points for VA sales team to align on customer strategy, understand markets, service challenges etc.
- Responsible for reviewing sales reports and identifying areas to improve in both volume and margin
- Leads business reviews for key targeted accounts
- Assist in account management support for all Business Development growth accounts
- Seen as the fresh pork expert in the market with customers regarding product specs, pricing and markets
Growth and Customer Development
- Ensure customer specific strategies are being executed by monitoring kpi's and course correcting based on results
- Make occasional in person sales calls for key accounts to maintain or develop relationships
- Coordinate RFP process for assigned accounts and large product opportunities
- Perform discovery calls to gain understanding of customer's business and identify any product offering gaps
- Responsible for establishing programs/promos and presenting to customers to drive incremental volume growth
- Actively maintain a pipeline of new opportunities with existing accounts through CRM
- Collaborate with Business Unit team on growth opportunities by establishing business cases to support customer growth
- Responsible for developing a trade up strategy with customer base
- Responsible for managing one page customer plans and identifying fresh pork activity needed to grow business
- Responsible for developing annual growth strategy with volume targets for targeted customers as part of budgeting process
- Responsible for managing and developing new business with existing accounts within our NAE and other key growth segments
Out front sales Execution
- Responsible for executing an out front sales strategy that balances available supply and customer strategy
- Collaborate with customers on promotions and incremental volume opportunities
- Negotiate pricing and availability with customers for out front sales
Daily sales Execution
- Develop and manage disappearance plan by product family for spot buy opportunities
- Provide direction and approval on daily product allocations and customer communications
- Connect with customers on daily basis to gain understanding of market conditions including competitive intel
- Collaborate with business unit team on market and customer intel and make pricing recommendations to get best value for available product
- Participate in daily team calls to understand product availability, share pricing feedback and provide sales updates on key items
- Develop and execute on daily priority sales plan based on current unsold inventory
- Negotiate pricing and availability with customers for spot buys
Admin/Team CFG
- Supports Fresh Account management team with order entry/order management when needed
- Report out Monthly to fresh sales leadership team by providing status update on KPIs and deliverables for area of responsibility
- Participate in monthly trainings to build business acumen and key skills needed to be successful in role
- Supports Fresh Account management team by inputting credits and debits when needed
- Supports Fresh Account management team by completing new customer set up forms including Ship to addresses, pricing sheets, date codes, etc.
Experience
Required- 5 year(s): minimum of sales experience or related food experience. Protein or food preferred. Ability to have a sense of urgency, be flexible and adapt to changing environment, develop relationships, think strategically, interpret a sales P&L and take action, collaborate and influence others across all areas of the business and constructively challenge and resolve conflicts.
