Job Summary:

Our Seminar Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs) are part of a highly effective marketing system that brings in several hundred qualified prospects annually. Our primary marketing activity is performing seminar presentations to the public on a regular basis. The company does all marketing and scheduling activities entirely. We are looking for an experienced qualified advisor who can deliver presentations to a room of prospects and generate their interest in setting an appointment. You will then meet with the prospective clients in a comprehensive fact-finding appointment to understand their entire financial situation as well as goals, questions and what help they are looking for.  From there you will build the financial plans and any recommendations that came out of what you learned in the first appointment. Ultimately, your primary job is then to close them to become a client of the firm. You will be paired with a CFP advisor who, once you close the client, will then take the client and service them for the life of the relationship going forward. In summary, you will be delivering presentations, meeting with prospects, closing prospects, and repeating!

Essential Job Functions for the Seminar RVP will include:

  • Performing/public speaking in front of a crowd.
  • Build rapport with prospects making them feel comfortable.
  • Take prospects through a comprehensive fact-finding meeting to learn about their entire situation and uncover goals, questions, fears and overall need for help.
  • Compel prospects to become clients.
  • Utilize and incorporate financial planning acumen including but not limited to Retirement Income planning, tax knowledge, investment and portfolio knowledge.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 7 years experience within financial services, preferably in an advisor capacity
  • Sales experience required.
  • Series 65 or combination of Series 7 and Series 66 license required unless candidate holds one of the following credentials: Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®), Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), Personal Financial Specialist (PFS), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or Chartered Investment Consultant (CIC)
  • Life & Health Insurance in the respective state of employment
  • Must enjoy and be good at public speaking. This is not a boring presentation, but rather a “performance” to the crowd.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical, organizational and presentation skills
  • Experience working with high-level, busy professionals.
  • Must work well in a team environment and present a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Self-starter, active contributor and ability to listen to and deliver on client’s needs and expectations.
  • Must be highly flexible and confidential with all matters.

Working Conditions:

Daytime hours, standing, sitting, regular travel, indoors and outdoors, will be assigned to a workstation.

Salary:

Average annual salary range for this position across our locations is: $85,000 to $100,000. Actual base pay within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to the applicant’s geographic location, relevant experience, education, skills and licenses/certifications.  This position is also eligible to earn incentive compensation through one of Mercer Advisors’ incentive compensation programs.
