Workdays & Hours: Monday – Friday, 10 am – 7 pm. Availability for Evening shift 3 pm-11 pm, Overnight shift 11 pm – 7 am, and on-call/weekend work required. The Security and Emergency Management Section is a 24/7 operation.

A Security Supervisor job is available with the City of Fort Worth Municipal Court: City Hall Security. The City of Fort Worth Municipal Court Security section is a fast-paced and rewarding section responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for employees and visitors to City Hall. The position ensures work quality and adherence to established security policies and procedures.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED supplemented by specialized training in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
- Four (4) years of security or law enforcement experience, including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Additional years of supervisory experience working in multiple locations.
- Previous high-rise security experience.
- Experience with coordinating schedules for 24/7 operations.
- Experience with card access control and video management system (VMS).
The Security Supervisor's job responsibilities include:
- Supervises staff, which includes prioritizing and assigning work; helping employees with goal setting and achievement;conducting performance evaluations; ensuring staff is trained; ensuring employees follow policies and procedures; maintaining a healthy and safe working environment; and making hiring, termination, and disciplinary recommendations.
- Establishes schedules and methods for providing security services; identifies resource needs; reviews needs with appropriate management staff; and allocates resources accordingly.
- Oversees, coordinates, and supervises security guards working various shifts and ensures that security personnel staff each post.
- Participates in developing policies and procedures; monitors work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; and recommends changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
- Monitors and evaluates the quality, responsiveness, efficiency, and effectiveness of assigned security programs, service delivery methods, and procedures; and works with employees to continuously improve city services.
- Performs the more technical and complex tasks, including developing and initiating emergency response plans.
- Participates in preparing and administrating the security program budget; submits budget recommendations; monitors expenditures; and approves purchase orders.
- Prepares analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
- Coordinates with other divisions, departments, outside agencies, and citizens regarding security and safety.
- Researches products and pricing for card access control and intelligent video systems; meets with contractors and vendors to gather information; and makes recommendations for purchase.

Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last ten years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the previous ten years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.
Physical Demand:
Light Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work.
