Job Title:Security Engineer
Location: Grand Rapids, MI (Hybrid)

Key Responsibilities of the Security Engineer:
- Client System Optimization:
- Collaborate with client and Sales Design Professional on prioritizing and solving client vulnerabilities.
- Coordinate, lead, provide QC for upgrades, audits, and all services on systems and components per contractual commitments.
- Understand the client’s network/IS and life safety environments and how it is supporting/holding back security and functionality.
- End User Training:
- Ensure the client has the training, knowledge, resources, etc. to leverage their systems to the fullest.
- Perform remote and onsite training and demonstrations.
- Complex Triaging:
- Coordinate, lead, execute, perform QC on all commissioning and programming system related changes.
- Support after hour client needs through the On Call rotation and adhere to the On Call Policy.
- Solve issues to the root of the problem to prevent recurring issues; test to ensure issue is resolved.
- Provide level 1 troubleshooting for fire and intrusion systems.
- System issues, changes, additions, and resolution.
- Documentation:
- Compile reporting with perspective from all involved team members 1-2x per year that identifies vulnerabilities, issues, recommended resolution steps and suggested prioritization.
- Maintain product-related training documentation.
- Create and maintain internal dashboards, automated reporting enhancements such as Device Schedules, SI portal information, dashboards, etc.
Preferred Skills of the Security Engineer:
- Strong technical and mechanical skills.
- Experience with fire/intrusion design or related field.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Relevant industry certifications (Lenel & Genetec) are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of networks, IT infrastructure, electrical theory, software interfaces, and the ability to understand blueprints.
Requirements of the Security Engineer:
- Must possess a valid driver's license, can drive a company vehicle, and be insurable under a fleet policy.
- Must be able to pass a background screening and drug test.
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
