As a Security and Infrastructure Cloud Architect in the Microsoft Technology Center located in Houston, Texas, you will be working at the forefront of Microsoft innovation, helping customers create and implement a vision and strategy for their digital transformation. You will be an integral part of their transformation journey, challenging their ways of thinking and helping them realize and adopt the benefits of our Cloud. Responsibilities
  • An expert in security: Guide business and technical decision makers on increasing compliance, reducing risk, and creating business value on top of the Microsoft Security platform.
    • Synthesize business and technical architecture requirements
    • Serve as the go-to technical expert in the security space for the regional sales team. Experience as a solutions architect, security researcher, incident responder or equivalent in the area of Microsoft's security tool-set or major competitive security technologies. An understanding of the broader Microsoft Cloud technology stack and how it complements the security components. Design of security architectures that are aligned to regulatory and governance models. Advanced industry security certifications such as Certified Informations System Security Officer (CISSO), Global Information Assurance Certification (GIAC) Security Expert (GSE) or similar
    • Work with other security organizations in Microsoft to generate and reuse content
    • Accelerate customer adoption and influence prioritization of solution development
    • Opportunity to deliver speaking engagements evangelizing Microsoft Security in business conferences
  • An expert in Azure infrastructure: Guide business and technical decision makers on creating business value on top of the Azure platform.
    • Synthesize business and technical architecture requirements
    • Serve as the as the go-to technical expert in Azure Infrastructure space with a specific focus on Data Center Migration, Networking, Backup/Recovery, Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and Security, Governance and Compliance within regulated industries for the regional sales teams
    • Design and develop industry and platform experiences and demonstrations that leverage both hardware and software to educate, illuminate and inspire customers
    • Show the value of the Azure operations platform and GitHub for planning, building, deploying, and operating Azure environments and services through automation
  • Deliver customer engagements: Based at your facility location, you will prepare and deliver technical engagements to enterprise customers. These include strategy sessions, envisioning workshops, architecture design sessions, building of rapid prototypes, and hackathons. You take a cross-solution view to leverage capabilities across the entire Microsoft cloud platform. You will work collaboratively with account teams to determine the best engagements for a given opportunity to maximize customer benefit and accelerate deals success.
  • Solution design: Using your technical knowledge, architectural approach, consultancy skills and our methodology to win a customer's technical decision to buy and use Microsoft solutions and cloud services.
  • Set vision: You will use your technical knowledge to show customers an inspiring digital vision, across all Microsoft workloads, as well as deeper engagement in your core technology specialism. You will make this digital vision real using the architecture skills of you and your peers to provide a complete solution.
  • Build strategy: You will map the agreed customer vision into a strategy for implementation, resolving concerns, removing technical blockers, and validating a strong business case for investment. You will work with the customer, wider account team resources, and our partners to orchestrate a road-map for implementation.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • 7+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 6+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field AND 4+ years technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
    • OR equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in ANY of the following technologies: Azure Management Groups, Azure Policy, Cloud Adoption Framework for Azure, Azure Arc, Azure Active Directory, Azure Kubernetes Service, and Azure Functions.
  • Experience with Cloud security standards and frameworks such as Center for Internet Security (CIS), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), Cloud Security Alliance (CSA) or related.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1+ years of technical experience and/or knowledge in ANY of the following:
    • Security operations, Threat Intelligence, Cyber Incident Response or Penetration Testing/Red Teaming and understanding on the role of Artificial Intelligence in advancing cyber defense methodologies.
    • Regenerative Artificial Intelligence and/or related technologies in the field of cybersecurity.
    • Operating system internals, Operating System Security migrations and challenges in Windows, Linux, Mac, Android and iOS (iPhone Operating System) platforms
      Kill-chain model, ATT&CK (Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge) framework, and modern penetration testing techniques
    • Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) systems
  • Experience with Major cloud and productivity platforms as well as identity systems and related security concern Cloud security technologies, architectures, and concepts such as Zero Trust, cloud security posture management, cloud workload protection, Cloud code Security and Cloud infrastructure entitlement management.
  • Experience with Microsoft security solutions (Microsoft 365 Defender, Defender for Cloud, Sentinel) or, one or more related technologies such as Prisma Cloud, Crowdstrike, ProSplunkt, Splunk, or related.
  • Structured facilitator: Validated customer experience in requirements capture; prioritization; capturing evidence and impact to quantify business value; issue, risk and constraint identification
  • Technical breadth: Intermediate level experience across the full range of Microsoft cloud solutions - Azure Developer, Azure Data, Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence, Microsoft Business Applications, Modern Workplace and Productivity. Demonstrated experience of solution architectures which span multiple technical disciplines
  • Design Thinking: Proven experience of delivering design thinking, 'ideation', or similar context analysis /problem framing.

Technology Specialists IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $124,800 - $242,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $159,000 - $264,000 per year.
