An Introduction to Glenstone Museum
Founded with the mission to seamlessly integrate art, architecture, and landscape, Glenstone is an art museum located on over 300 acres of rolling hills and unspoiled woodland in Potomac, Maryland. The museum, opened in 2006 and expanded in 2018, offers nearly 60,000 square feet of exhibition space to showcase its collection of more than 1300 works by 200 contemporary artists.
Position Overview
To maintain a safe and welcoming environment for visitors, staff, and guests, while assuring protection of the collections and other assets from all threats. The Security Shift Supervisor assists the Security Manager with staff management, development of the security budget, operation and maintenance of electronic security systems, coordination with emergency response agencies, and developing and presenting ongoing professional training to the security staff and general staff.
Key Responsibilities
Manage, train, and coach the security guard team. Responsible for administering annual reviews and assessments to a set of security guards.
Execute the established security protocols and verify policy and procedure standards are being met.
Manage service providers and contracts related to the department’s needs.
Become gate house qualified and work in the gate house when needed.
Become control room qualified and work in the control room when needed.
Operate vehicles assigned to the security department.
Required to work off-hour events and weekends on occasion. Available for 24/7 emergency contact.
Other duties as assigned.
