- High School diploma or equivalent
- Internal candidates must have passed Clerical Basics & Skyward exams
- External candidates must pass Clerical Basics & Skyward exams within the probationary period

- Reports to the Special Education Director. Receives general instructions regarding work to be done.
- Assists with the coordination for evaluation of students in the corporation
- Serves as personal and confidential Secretary to the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education.
- Assists Special Education Data Specialist with data collection for all state and federal reporting
- Handles inquiries from the public; determines which inquiries need to be handled personally by a Special Education administrator, or Special Education compliance monitor.
- Schedule appointments for the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education and keep the calendar up to date.
- Prepares letters and memoranda.
- Keep a database for letters of memorandum and reports.
- Enter requisitions.
- Responsible for coordinating supply orders for all departments and seeing that all supplies are distributed to the appropriate department. Responsible for paper order.
- Responsible for ordering, storing, and maintaining office supplies for the main office, student services, teacher aides, and attendance office.
- Organizing Special Education files in the Special Education office and assisting with files at the schools
- Must have excellent typing skills and knowledge of MicroSoft Office, Google, Excel, AS400 and Skyward.
- Operates a variety of office machines.
- Assist with Medicaid billing and Special Education grant applications/reimbursements/modifications .
- Maintain Special Education database entry, run reports as needed
- Upload daily announcements to the department web page
- Willing to learn Indiana IEP
- Willing to learn Special Education policy and procedures
- All other related duties as directed by the Director of Special Education.
