The Second Assistant Superintendent position is a full-time, benefit eligible and salaried position. This is a management position, working alongside another Assistant Superintendent and the Head Golf Course Superintendent; ensuring the efficient, economical and safe daily operations of the White Pines Golf Course Grounds Department.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS- Personnel management, alongside another Assistant Superintendent and the Head Golf Course Superintendent.
- Assist in scheduling and application of fertilizer and chemicals.
- Assist in irrigation system repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in projects and improvements throughout the property.
- Routinely participate in the basic maintenance and set-up of White Pines Golf Club's golf courses and landscaped areas,
Including; daily mowing of turf, irrigation, raking of bunkers, trash collection and general clean-up of property.
- Participate in maintaining an overall; clean, SAFE and efficient shop/work area(s).
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and tools.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Valid Illinois Pesticide License, or ability to obtain one within 30 days.
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to effectively understand safety signage and instructions.
- General knowledge of golf and the expectation of course conditioning for guests.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, barring dangerous conditions.
- Prior landscaping, or golf course maintenance experience required.
- Relative secondary education preferred, but not required.
HOURS 40+ hours/week, rotating weekend and holiday schedule.
