Job Summary:
The Seasonal Quality Assurance Technician has the primary responsibility for the daily verification of the quality control and production processing parameters in the Quality Center to assure that all the products comply with our quality systems standards, SOPs, as well as FDA, customer, and other regulatory requirements. The Seasonal QA Techs work with the production team to assure that all proper checks are in place and communicate on a regular basis regarding quality results.
Pay – $16/hr. $.75/hr 2nd shift premium
Schedule –
1st Shift: Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm; the team member is expected to work during production hours which may include daily overtime and Saturday or Sunday production.
2nd Shift: Monday through Friday 2:30pm to 11:00pm; the team member is expected to work during production hours which may include daily overtime and Saturday or Sunday production.
Essential Job Functions:
• Perform analysis of finished products to include first check of production run to ensure starting per specification, brine weight checks, net weight, drain weight, and titration process utilizing approved methods to assure product quality and food safety.
• Understand and have knowledge of product specifications, when product is defective, and the corrective action process when needed.
• Perform required quality checks on incoming raw material produce.
• Perform verifications on pouch and box codes/labels related to manufactured (pack on) date and best by dates.
• Notify QA Coordinator of unusual product observations and analytical results to assure potential quality and food safety issues are identified, reviewed, and resolved prior to releasing product.
• Maintain sample retention inventory according to procedures.
• Maintain documentation on check weigher, finished product weight checks, defect checks, pouch and box code verifications, run order completion (FIFO), salt stock tank weights, environmental, and any other required quality documentation.
• Calibrate and operate QC testing instrumentation in a safe and professional manner.
• Perform weekly swabs for environmental, pre-operational, coliform, yeast and mold.
• Assist with employee training as needed.
• Comply with SOPs, SQF guidelines, GMP, HACCP, and FDA procedures.
• Participate in conducting monthly regulatory inspections and other required tasks.
• Maintain an orderly and safe work area.
• Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in a science related field highly desired, high school diploma or GED required.
• Mature, enthusiastic, motivated team member.
• Great attention to detail
• Good organizational skills
• Excellent math skills
• Ability and willingness to work overtime and/or weekends if necessary.
• Good working knowledge of Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, and a comfort level of learning new systems.
