- Summary:
- Senior: Skills equiv. to 6-10 years in comparable position. Job Role & Responsibilities:
- The Scrum Master works with team of technical professionals to help timely delivery of new system capabilities, implement enhancements and support existing systems
- Facilitates collaboration amongst cross-functional teams
- Challenge and negotiate project scope, and ensure robust documentation of specifications which guides the efficient application development and engineering efforts to ensure successful implementation and maximize the speed to deliver the business value achieved with the initiatives
- Product Focus - Partner with the Product Owner and Solution Architect to understand key business and technology objectives and strategy of the products to help team drive towards executing these goals
- Lead the coordination of release planning with the Product Owner and other key IT and Business stakeholders
- Responsible for the administrative, coaching and leadership roles that make Scrum development/delivery possible
- Works with business partners to identify and implement multiple and complex technical systems and/or products of varying sizes
- Manages medium to large systems and/or products
- Acts as a buffer between the team and process overhead, so each team member can focus on the timely delivery of software
- Shields the team from interruptions and removes obstacles that may impact the delivery of the product
- Guides the teams operations by facilitating ceremonies (e.g. daily standup, sprint planning) and instilling Agile principles into daily activities to ensure smooth functioning of the delivery team
- Facilitates internal and external communications (e.g. task coordination, progress tracking/reporting, dependency management)
- Ensure team is well-informed on internal and external initiatives and activities
- Keeps external stakeholders, collaborates, and other interested parties are well-informed on team progress and activities
- To ensure smooth delivery of team, tracks and removes and obstacles and barriers that may prevent progress
- Qualifications: Requires BS/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study with IT focus degree and a minimum of 5 years experience in IT and minimum 2 years implementing Agile methodologies; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background Proven organizational skills working with cross-functional team in helping develop a detailed work plan to ensure product success. Past work experience as a Scrum Master. Knowledge and/or experience with agile techniques and processes.
- CSM (Certified Scrum Master) or SAFe SM Certified, and/or PMP certification a plus. Knowledge of other agile approaches: XP, Kanban, etc. Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments to resolve issues. Strong critical thinking skills; strong knowledge of data analysis techniques to interpret results. Strong ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, verbally and written, providing project status reports and analytical summaries and escalates issues as needed.
- Strong requirements elicitation and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple complex assignments, projects, priorities and timelines. Working knowledge of Microsoft application software (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio and Project).
