(Two-year fixed term role)
We are seeking a highly skilled and detailed oriented Scientific Communications Specialist to join our Scientific Communications Team in the Research and Development Organization at Colgate-Palmolive. In this role, you will help us translate and develop communication materials, such as presentations, monographs, white papers, and journal manuscripts that summarize scientific and clinical research findings. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual with technical writing experience and a passion for ground breaking research!
Responsibilities
Interpret study results and collaborate with researchers and clinicians in the development of high-quality Scientific Communications content, such as conference proceedings and/or journal manuscripts
Write and edit scientific manuscripts, develop figures, tables, and other visual aids ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to journal submission guidelines
Maintain clear and effective communication channels with team members to ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of projects
Represent Colgate at dental research conferences, and support other Scientific Communications activities
Requirements
A minimum of 2 years of scientific or clinical writing experience and a Bachelor's degree
An advanced degree in a scientific discipline such as biology, chemistry, life sciences, or a related field is a plus
A portfolio of previous technical writing work, and/or work displaying clinical and scientific acumen for the analysis and display of data
Proven experience writing peer-reviewed manuscripts on behalf of others
Strong understanding of scientific research methodologies, experimental design, and data analysis
Ability to grasp complex scientific concepts and translate them into clear and concise language for diverse audiences
Ability to interact professionally with all organizational levels and proactively raise issues to appropriate levels of management in the organization
Salary range: $79,200-$111,000/year
This is a two-year fixed term role offering full time salaried benefits including annual bonus eligibility, 401k, medical, dental, vision, and paid time off

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $79,200 - $111,000 USD
Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location. In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes:
- Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
- Retirement Plans: Employees are eligible to enroll in Colgate's 401(k) plan, which provides for company matching contributions subject to eligibility requirements
- Vacation/PTO: Employees receive a minimum of 15 days of vacation/PTO leave annually
- Paid Holidays: Employees receive a minimum of 13 paid/floating holidays annually
- Paid Sick Leave: Based on location and consistent with applicable state and local law, employees receive a minimum of 40 hours of paid sick leave on January 1st of each year
- Paid Parental Leave: Eligible employees may take up to eight weeks of paid parental leave and 12 weeks of unpaid leave (varies for employees with fewer than 12 months of service and is subject to hours worked requirements)
