Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for a Communications Specialist, Strategic Response. This position is based in New Brunswick, NJ.
The Communications Specialist, Strategic Response , is a strategic communications professional focused on promoting and protecting the Company’s reputation through issues management. The Communications Specialist will report to the Director, Strategic Response, and support work with the media relations, government affairs, and law departments; sectors and regions; external advisors and other communication leaders across Johnson & Johnson pertaining to issues. The Communications Specialist will support the team through media statement management, maintaining Company sites, media lists, and team documents. Beyond these core responsibilities, the Specialist will have the opportunity to learn and grow through exposure to broader communications strategies that support the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device sectors of the Johnson & Johnson business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an in-depth understanding Johnson & Johnson and work to help defend the reputation on behalf of the Company.
- Conduct research into potential external engagements and provide recommendations on when/where our teams should engage.
- Prepare executive briefings on key issues.
- Maintain and update media lists and team documents.
- Assist in managing key Company websites ensuring reporters can easily find information and important updates.
- Maintain rich understanding of industry best practices and emerging trends.
Qualifications
Education:
- A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Experience and Skills:
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience working in a communications role.
- Passion for media and consuming news, in all forms, through a variety of channels.
- Someone who works with an extremely high level of attention to detail in managing highly sensitive information.
- A self-starter who is highly responsive in a fast-paced environment, and who can effectively manage up and share ongoing updates with the team.
- Willingness to support the team outside of traditional working hours.
- Has a basic understanding of – and interest in learning more about – Johnson & Johnson’s business, Enterprise initiatives, and monitoring and reporting tools.
- A research-driven leader who carefully vets decisions prior to making recommendations.
- Team player who thrives in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful, self-directed professional who navigates ambiguity to develop solutions.
- Values accountability for the quality of their work.
The base pay range for this position is $49,350- $79,695.
The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/ performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis.
