Located on a large private ranch on the outskirts of beautiful Cedar City, Discovery Ranch for Girls is a licensed, accredited residential treatment center for for adolescent females. Our students come from all across the country and globe and are facing a number of challenges, especially mental and behavioral health issues. As our Science Teacher's Aide, you will assist in providing traditional classroom instruction while working with a diverse student body.
Our Science Teacher's Aide will work as part of our larger team in providing integrated care services to our students, which includes meeting their academic needs. You will work directly with our Science Teacher in the classroom as well as students individually. You will be closely involved in our student's academic planning and progress monitoring, and the first point of contact for other staff regarding your students. This will provide you with valuable experience not only in education and teaching, but also mental and behavioral health. Healthy relationships, novel and challenging experiences, and a strengths-based approach are how we foster the healing process and create lasting change, and this happens just as much in the classroom as anywhere else.

Requirements
Please note: your resume should include education, work experience, certifications, and licenses
- Associates Degree OR 48 college credit hours OR successful completion of the Praxis ParaPro exam (we may provide)
- Able to pass pre-employment drug screen
- Able to pass criminal investigation background check
- Able to pass motor vehicle record check
- Current Utah driver's license (within 30 days of employment)
- 1st Aid & CPR certified (we may provide)
- ICC certified (we may provide)
- Firm, healthy boundaries
Preferred
- Previous Teacher's Aide experience
- Subject specific tutoring experience
