The School Psychology Internship at Grant Community High School will offer a variety and depth of experiences. Interns will have opportunities to work across all three tiers of service delivery. Depending on the intern's training needs and interests, more focus may be given to a particular area. Opportunities will involve the following:
- Participation on problem-solving teams
- Individual and group counseling for special education and general education populations
- Completion of initial case study evaluations and re-evaluations
- Special education caseload of students with counseling services
- Experience with academic intervention at the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels
- Opportunities for involvement with PBIS
- Involvement in implementing suicide prevention program (SOS)
- Crisis intervention and risk assessment experience
- Report writing and preparation/completion of IEP paperwork
- Participation in a variety of IEP meetings (annual, evaluation, manifestation determination, etc.)
- Participation in Discipline Review meetings for the general education population
- Academic support (consultation to develop interventions)
- Experience with completing Functional Behavioral Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans
- Teacher and parent consultation
- Involvement with 504 Plan meetings, eligibility, and development
